The grinding laps are available in different grit sizes like 80 Grit, 100 Grit, 180 Grit, 260 Grit, 360 Grit, 600 Grit, 1200 Grit, 1500 Grit, 3000 Grit Selection of correct grit size is based on the type of operation and the type of stones being worked on. If your Gemstone is hard and big size and you need to pre shape, a coarser grit (80 to 360) is preferred. The fine grits (600-3000) to be used for stones that are soft, small and the operation required is faceting or pre-polish.
